Turn off Fingered Chord. Fingered chord forces a student to play the chord properly by only sounding if a chord is played. This means that the lower 16 or so keys will not make noise. Top
Metronome
The metronome shown in the manual is a visual indicator, not an audible one. If you need audio cues, then you must find a rhythm and adjust the tempo accordingly so that it acts as a metronome., For CTK-691, WK-3000, and WK-3500, our European Web site has some specific rhythms you can download, which can serve as a metronome. You can download the Metronom 3/4 and Metronom 4/4 files from that page. For CTK-900, WK-3200, and WK-3700, please go to the following page: Go to Rhythm and click the Data List link. This will open up the file list in another window. You can download Metro4Bt, Metro3Bt, and Metro2Bt from that list. For WK-3300, WK-3800 and WK-8000 Please see Appendix C Rhythm list from 160 to 165 from the user manual. In order to use a Metronome, select one of the Rhythms corresponding to the desired tempo, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 etc., Rhythms 160 through 165 are metronome. Can t transfer songs, USB isn t recognized, MIDI USB device won t install.
1 Configure USB MIDI device first. Connect USB midi cable/device you have, A Insert accompanying CD and complete installation of that device before connecting to keyboard.
2 Connect the OUT to the IN on the keyboard. Connect the IN to the OUT on the keyboard This may be different depending on the MIDI device being used. Please see the MIDI device instructions for proper connection.
3 Configure MIDI IN and MIDI OUT on the computer MIDI software. These must both be the same and named for the device/cable you installed i.e. MIDI IN - Yahama UX-16 and MIDI OUT - Yamaha UX-16 or whatever manufacturers device you have No matter what software is used MIDI IN and OUT MUST be configured in order to create connectivity between the software and the PC. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. If the customer does not know how to configure the MIDI IN and OUT with their Non-Casio software, they must contact their software vendor.
4 Once this is installed, almost EVERY MIDI software has some TEST mode.
5 Make sure Local Contol ON on the keyboard itself.
6 If keyboard is in sleep mode Lighted Keys are playing by themselves with no sound, please hit a key and re-activate the keyboard before data transfer will work.
7 If still having problems, did you navigate to Device Manager, locate any device with an . or . , double click it, click the driver tab and UPDATE DRIVER. LK100/200/300 and MIDI TimeOut Install USB Driver from Casio CD, Connect the USB cable to the keyboard and the other end to the computer, Turn the keyboard ON. Install and OPEN the SMF Converter software Navigate to and select a file to send to the keyboard Select Send to keyboard If you receive a MIDI TIMEOUT error, disconnect the USB cable Open SMF Converter Select the same file and select Send to Keyboard You should receive a window that looks like the one on the attached document. Connecting a Keyboard to a Computer The first question you should ALWAYS ask is. are you sending TO the keyboard or FROM the keyboard. If they are sending FROM the keyboard to a PC: The customer is trying to compose by playing on the keyboard and using software that automatically notates what they are playing on the PC. If the keyboard uses a USB connection check the diagram in the manual : The keyboard connects to the PC using a standard USB cable. They can purchase this cable at any electronics store. It may or may not come with the keyboard. Connect the cable to the keyboard and connect the other end to the BACK of the PC just like with a camera. Open the software you want to use 3rd party no Casio software is involved in this process.. Everything else should be software related, and they would need to contact the software provider i.e. Cake Walk, Garage Band, Finale for more information. If they ask about Drivers, the Drivers should be for the cable, not the keyboard. They should download any drivers that came with the cable If the cable came with the keyboard, look for the CD and the drivers should be there.. Other than that, there isn t really anything else for us to do with these. If the keyboard has MIDI IN, MIDI OUT ports check the diagram in the manual. : The keyboard connects to the PC using a USB to DUAL MIDI cable. The USB plugs into the back of the PC; the MIDI IN plugs in to the MIDI OUT port on the keyboard and the MIDI OUT plugs in to the MIDI IN port on the keyboard. If they do not have the cable, they can purchase it at various electronics stores. It may come bundled with software. They can also purchase it online at www.casiokeyboards.com. Install and open the software you want to use. Everything else is software related and should be referred to the software provider. See the info above concerning drivers. Other than that, this should be all you need to do. If they are sending TO the keyboard FROM a PC: The connections would be the same as above. USB USB; USB MIDI IN/OUT In to Out, Out to In Download the appropriate software from music.casio.com/e. IDES or SMF Converter they do NOT need both. Follow the website link. This software converts MIDI files . mid into an SMF0 format, making it recognizable by the keyboard. Download and follow the instructions for using the software from the website. If they are sending FROM the keyboard TO a MAC: There MUST be MIDI IN, MIDI OUT ports on the back of the PC. If they have MIDI IN and OUT, see the directions above for connecting MIDI IN/OUT to a PC. It should work the same. If the keyboard does not have MIDI IN/OUT it has USB only., then it is not MAC-compatible. Even though it is using a USB cable, the MAC will not recognize the keyboard. There are no drivers or updates to make it work. They will need a keyboard with MIDI IN and OUT.To my knowledge you can t send FROM the MAC TO the keyboard. Top
